§ Mr. VazTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many(a) bypasses and (b) motorways have been constructed by his Department since 1972; and if he will list for each of those bypasses and motorways the estimated traffic flows (i) at the time of design, (ii) on completion, (iii) after the first year of operation and (iv) at present.

The Department records traffic forecasts and actual traffic one year after opening for trunk road schemes for which orders have been published since 1981.
