What is the total capital spending on (a) county schools and (b) church schools in each of the last six years, including 1992–93.

Total capital expenditure by central government (for voluntary aided schools) and by local authorities supported by central government (for other schools) is set out in the table below.

1 Figures are not collected separately for church schools. Some 98 per cent. (4,193 out of 4,280) of VA schools are church schools. There are also 2,890 voluntary controlled church schools out of 3,038 VC schools included in the LEA maintained school figures.
