Mr. William Powell

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will publish details of defence expenditure changes under "Options for Change" already implemented and those envisaged for the next 12 months.

Details of trends in Defence spending between 1990–91 and 1994–95 are published today in "The Government's Expenditure Plans for the Ministry of Defence" (Cmd 1901)—which will be placed in the Library of the House. These figures take full account of plans developed as a result of earlier work on "Options for Change".
