HC Deb 06 February 1992 vol 203 c249W
Miss Emma Nicholson

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will name the parties to whom his Department has sent, and with whom his Department has consulted on, the OECD produced guidelines for the security of information systems, explanatory memorandum, and recommendation of the council: draft documents (reference No. DSTI/ICCP/AH(90)21/Rev3).

Mr. Leigh

During preparatory work on draft OECD guidelines for the security of information systems and associated documents, which continue to be in draft, the Department of Trade and Industry has consulted all United Kingdom Government Departments having an interest. The Department has also consulted its Information Technology Security Advisory Group, comprising a range of IT security specialists from the private sector and academia.

The OECD is also advised direct on the draft guidelines through information system security experts on its Business and Industry Advisory Committee, which includes a number of representatives from the United Kingdom.
