HL Deb 06 February 1992 vol 535 c21WA
Baroness Ewart-Biggs

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What training facilities they currently extend to members of the Fijian armed forces, and what, if any, arms or military equipment were sold to Fiji in 1990–91.

Earl of Caithness

A small number of Fijian military students are attending officer developmental courses in Britain. Training has been maintained at historical levels. It has been the practice of successive governments, not to comment in detail on specific arms export licences. However, all such licences are scrutinised closely on a case-by-case basis, and are subject to strict criteria.
