§ 32. Mr. James LamondTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he next plans discussions with the People's Republic of China on the future of Hong Kong.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydIt was agreed during the Prime Minister's visit to Peking in September 1991 that my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs would meet the Chinese Foreign Minister at six-monthly intervals to discuss issues of mutual concern including Hong Kong. One purpose of these meetings will be to give added impetus to the detailed discussions on questions relating to the future of Hong Kong which takes place regularly in the Sino-British joint liaison group.
