To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the figures for 1991 for the percentage of under-fives in(a) nursery schools, (b) nursery classes, (c) infant classes and (d) in total, by local education authority in Scotland, in rank order.

[holding answer 31 January 1992]: Provisional information from the 1991 school census on the number and percentage of pupils in nursery schools and departments in Scotland is as follows. The school census does not collect a separate breakdown of pupils into nursery schools, nursery classes and infant classes.
