To ask the Secretary of State for Employment for what reasons the local initiative was reduced from £1.15 per capita to £0.45.

Mr. Jackson

The per capita allowance is just one element of money made available to training and enterprise councils through the local initiative fund. The total amount available for training and enterprise councils to spend through the fund in 1992–93 will be higher than their expected expenditure in 1991–92.
