HC Deb 03 February 1992 vol 203 c14W
Mr. Wallace

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many self-employed people paid income tax in 1990–91 and 1991–92; and how many he estimates will pay income tax in 1992–93.

Mr. Maude

The number of taxpaying individuals whose main source of income is from self employment is estimated at about 2.8 million for each of these years assuming statutory indexation of allowances in 1992–93.
