To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will publish details of the formula to be used to determine the level of resources to be redistributed from local education authorities to the Further Education Funding Council under the provisions of the Further and Higher Education Bill [Lords].

Mr. Eggar

The Government are considering the level of resources to be transferred from revenue support grant to reflect the shift in responsibilities from local education authorities to the Further Education Funding Council from 1 April 1993. We shall be consulting the local authority associations on proposals for the annual local authority finance settlement for 1993–94 in due course.
