To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security, pursuant to his answer of 23 January,Official Report, column 286, what developments have taken place in his use of FAMIS during his tenure as Secretary of State; and if he will make a statement.

§ Miss Widdecombe
Development of the early phases of the financial and management information system, commenced in October 1990 and they are on target for implementation to begin in April 1992. Meanwhile, the Department has developed interim resource management facilities to improve budget and work control and has introduced a devolved personnel management system.
