HC Deb 03 February 1992 vol 203 c12W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what information he has on the strength of sensitive technologies and material export controls in(a) Russia and (b) the other republics of the former Soviet Union, since the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Mr. Garel-Jones

The ability of Russia and the other republics of the former Soviet Union to maintain effective controls on the export of sensitive technologies and materials is a matter of continuing concern. We have raised this subject in our contacts with some of the states in question, and are in touch with our friends and allies to determine how best we can offer advice and assistance.
