HL Deb 03 February 1992 vol 535 c1WA
Lord Marlesford

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will ensure that British Rail inform passengers on unmanned stations of delays and cancellations of trains.

The Minister of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

British Rail has reached agreement with the Central Transport Consultative Committee, the national body representing rail users' interests, on a code of practice for unstaffed and partially staffed stations. Amongst other things, the code deals with the provision of communication systems and provides for consultation between British Rail and the local Transport Users' Consultative Committee.
