To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what discussions the European Research Council has had during the United Kingdom presidency of the European Council on the proposals set out in article 130f(2), proposed to be added to the treaty of Rome under the treaty on European union.

There has been no specific discussion in the Research Council during the United Kingdom presidency of article 130f(2) of the proposed treaty of European union, which is substantially the same as that in the treaty of Rome.

The main matters under discussion have been the Commission's proposal for a supplement to the third framework programme and the Commission's working document on the fourth framework programme.
