To ask the President of the Board of Trade what discussions his Department has had with the Teesside development corporation about future developments at Preston Farm industrial estate, Stockton-on-Tees.

Mr. Sainsbury

None recently. However, officials of the Department of the Environment have regular meetings with the Teesside development corporation to discuss a range of issues.

To ask the President of the Board of Trade when he will announce a decision on assistance from his Department to the proposed hydroponics plant at Preston Farm industrial estate, Stockton-on-Tees.

Mr. Sainsbury

I am not aware of any application to my Department for assistance for a hydroponics plant in the north-east region. But in any event such applications are confidential matters between applicant and the Government.
