Mr. Vaz

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consideration he has given to the code of ethics produced by the Association of Chief Police Officers; and if he will make a statement.

Home Office officials have been working with the police service on the development of the code of ethics, which was launched on 8 December by the Association of Chief Police Officers. The code of ethics is not yet finalised, and one of the issues that have to be addressed is its relationship with police disciplinary procedures. This will be considered as a part of the review of police disciplinary procedures announced on 16 December.
