§ Mr. DorrellThe cost of mortgage interest relief is provisionally estimated to be £5.2 billion in 1992–93 based on the standard assumption that interest rates remain at their current levels for the rest of 1992–93.
Estimates for the earlier years are published in table 5.2 of "Inland Revenue Statistics 1992", a copy of which is in the Library.
