§ Mr. Jonathan EvansTo ask the President of the Board of Trade what representations he has received concerning his proposals for variation of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations concerning the letting of furnished accommodation.
§ Mr. LeighTo date, some 90 representative organisations and individual businesses have commented on the proposals. Organisations representing providers of 469W furnished accommodation and tourism interests have sought a much longer period in which to meet the fire resistance requirements, while those representing consumer interests expressed concern about the safety implications of any further postponement.
