§ Mr. Colin ShepherdTo ask the President of the Board of Trade (1) what policy he will adopt in deriving his priorities when responding to any request for advice from, or consultation by, the European Commission in respect of bids made by local authorities relating to the designation of parts of their areas as being eligible for support under objective 5(b)of the European structural fund; and when he expects to be in a position to respond to such requests for advice or consultation;
(2) what is the latest date after which he will not entertain submissions from local authorities for parts of their areas to be considered as eligible for support under objective 5(b)of the European structural fund.
§ Mr. SainsburyThe European Commission does not expect to present its proposals for revised structural funds regulations until early next year. It will then have to be considered by the Council.
