HC Deb 17 December 1992 vol 216 c348W
Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Attorney-General what estimate has been made of the cost to the Crown prosecution service and his Department of work done in relation to the recent cases involving Plasser, British Rail and the hon. Member for Ealing, North (Mr. Greenway).

The Attorney-General

Detailed costs are not yet available, but it is presently estimated that the cost to the Crown prosecution service of the proceedings to date is about £750,000.

Staff within my legal secretariat have occasionally been engaged on work arising from this case as part of their general duties. The amount of time so involved cannot be separately identified and costed.
