To ask the Secretary of State for Defence when he proposes to replace the personnel currently serving in 24 Field Ambulance in Croatia as part of the United Nations protection force—UNPROFOR II; and how many patients have been treated by the unit in the course of its tour to date.

The 24 Field Ambulance will be replaced by 4 Armoured Field Ambulance, currently based in Munden, Germany. The handover started on 13 December and is expected to be complete today. To date 3,300 of the UN personnel who work in the UN protection areas in Croatia have been treated or transported by the unit.
