§ Mr. YeoThe Registered Homes Act 1984 defines a mental nursing home as
any premises used, or intended to be used, for the reception of, and the provision of nursing or other medical treatment (including care, habilitation and rehabilitation under medical supervision) for, one or more mentally disordered patients (meaning persons suffering or appearing to be suffering from mental disorder), whether exclusively or in common with other persons.The Act specifically excludes premises operated by health authorities, local authorities and Government Departments from this definition. Information on the number of clinics for child sex abusers is not collected centrally.
§ Mr. Mike O'BrienTo ask the Secretary of State for Health how many clinics in England and Wales specialise in the treatment of offenders involved in child sex abuse and in which towns they are located; and how many other clinics there are which are prepared to treat offenders involved in child sex abuse.
