§ Mr. Jonathan EvansTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what plans he has under his rural initiative for 1993–94.
§ Mr. David HuntA total of £6.6 million has been allocated for the 1993–94 round of the rural initiative capital grants scheme, an increase of 10 per cent. on the current year. Applications have already been invited from local authorities and must be received by Friday 18 December 1992. These will be considered and assessed and an announcement of successful projects made in due course.
Provision has also been made which will enable the Department, its agencies and other organisations to continue to enhance the development of the economic, social and environmental fabric of rural Wales.
