To ask the Secretary of State for Health when she intends to publish the report on mother and baby units in British prisons by the social services inspectorate.

Mr. Yeo

A report on the first inspection of the three mother and baby units in British prisons, carried out at the request of the Home Secretary by the social services inspectorate with medical and nursing advisers, was published in March 1992. Copies are available in the Library. A report on the second inspection, carried out in November 1992, will be published in the spring and placed in the Library.
