§ Mr. Tipping
To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what was the cost of the grant through the Sports Council for its National Children's Play and Recreation Unit for the financial years 1991–92 and 1992–93.

§ Mr. Brooke
In 1991–92, the Sports Council provided funding to the National Children's Play and Recreation Unit totalling £1,134,747. The approved budget for 1992–93 is £830,000.

§ Mr. Tipping
To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what studies he has commissioned into the effectiveness of the National Children's Play and Recreation Unit.

§ Mr. Brooke
No such studies have been commissioned.
