To ask the Secretary of State far the Environment if he will publish the annual rents paid by the Inland Revenue to Property Holdings in respect of(a) Overgate house, Marketgait, Dundee, for Dundee 3 tax district, (b) 2 Court House square, Dundee for Dundee 1 tax district, (c) Overgate house, Marketgait, Dundee, for Dundee collection offices and (d) 2 Court House square, Dundee, for the Dundee tax inquiry centre and the total annual loss incurred by Property Holdings following the surrender of these properties by the Inland Revenue; to which new tenants the properties have been relet; and at what annual rents.

Overgate house, Dundee

  • Dundee 3 tax district—£54,936 per annum
  • Dundee collection—£41,952 per annum

3 Court House square, Dundee

  • Dundee tax district—£62,088 per annum
  • Dundee tax enquiry—£21,072 per annum

Negotiations are at an advanced stage on the reallocation of some 418m2 of the space to be vacated at Court House square to the Benefits Agency, which will pay the same rent.

Consideration is still being given to the most cost effective options for disposal of the remaining space.
