§ Mr. Gwilym JonesThere are 950 commercial fishing vessels registered in Wales. Comprehensive data on port of registry are not available centrally. In 1988, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 1,165 full-time and 511 part-time employees in the Welsh fishing industry.
