We are also sponsoring an international meeting of non-governmental organisations to be held in Manchester next September.
§ Mrs. RocheTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he has taken, and what further steps he proposes to take, to promote the dialogue with the British academic community on United Nations Conference on Environment and Development follow-up.
§ Mr. MacleanThe Government consulted the academic community throughout the preparations for the Earth summit. We intend to continue this policy during the follow-up process and in the preparation of national reports. We also hope members of the British academic community will join in our "Partnerships for Change '93" conference in Manchester next September.
