§ Mr. Kenneth CarlisleI have made no estimate of this amount and the figure would depend on assumptions about the rate of replacement of vehicles in the existing heavy goods vehicles fleet. For last year it has been estimated that heavy goods vehicles in the United Kingdom emitted about 6.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide, measured as carbon.
