§ Mr. ForthThe curriculum order for English requires that pupils should learn about the use of the apostrophe between the ages of seven and 11. The order is currently under review, and one of the issues being addressed is how to define more clearly the grammatical knowledge which pupils must demonstrate in order to meet different levels of attainment.
