HC Deb 10 December 1992 vol 215 c747W
Mr. Mackinlay

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage, if he will list and give details of the vehicles belonging to the Windsor Castle fire brigade over the past three years, with the date of each vehicle's disposal and date and details of replacement.

Mr. Brooke

[holding answer 3 December 1992]: In November 1989, the Windsor Castle fire brigade retained three vehicles, a "Firefly", custom-built fire fighting vehicle originally purchased by the Property Services Agency but now the property of the royal household, and two Land-Rovers. One Land-Rover was replaced in February 1991 with a Ford Transit personnel carrier which was itself replaced in March 1992 by a Leyland DAF Crewbus. The other Land-Rover was 12 years old and withdrawn from service in November 1991. The vehicles currently in use by the castle fire brigade are the Firefly and the Leyland DAF Crewbus.
