§ Mr. Barry Jones
To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement on his plans for the ambulance service in Clwyd and Gwynedd.

§ Mr. Gwilym Jones
Arrangements for the statutory provision of ambulance services is a matter for the health authorities locally, which have recently decided to combine the existing Clwyd and Gwynedd ambulance services to form the North Wales ambulance service from 1 April 1993.
My right hon. Friend has invited an application for NHS trust status from 1994 and the decision to so proceed is a matter for the service itself.
