HC Deb 09 December 1992 vol 215 c714W
Sir Nicholas Bonsor

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on progress in the renegotiation with the German authorities of the supplementary agreement to the NATO status of forces agreement; when he expects the negotiations to be concluded; and when he expects a new agreement to come into force.

Mr. Archie Hamilton

The review of the supplementary agreement to the NATO status of forces agreement began in September 1991. Negotiations have progressed very well and are now nearing their final stage. Seven states, including the United Kingdom and Germany are parties to the agreement and it is not possible therefore to say exactly when negotiations will be completed.
