§ Mr. BlunkettTo ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what advice has been given to Hertfordshire social services department in relation to future steps to regulate activities at Wellbury house;
(2) what assessment she has made of the suitability of conditions at Wellbury house for people under the age of 18 years to reside in the premises; and if she will make a statement;
(3) what steps have been taken to register Wellbury house in Hertfordshire as a voluntary children's home; when application forms were received; what action she has taken; and if she will make a statement.
§ Mr. YeoIt is the responsibility of Hertfordshire county council to judge whether conditions at Wellbury house are suitable for children accommodated there. General guidance on the protection of the welfare of children has been issued to all local authorities.
