HC Deb 08 December 1992 vol 215 cc567-8W
Mr. Loyden

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations Her Majesty's Government have made to the United Nations on the post-election situation in Angola; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

[holding answer 3 December 1992]: We have been actively involved in United Nations Security Council discussions on the situation in Angola. On 30 November, the council adopted Security Council resolution 793 which extended until 31 January 1993 the role of the United Nations Angolan verification mission, and called on the parties in Angola to observe the ceasefire and create all the conditions necessary for the completion of the peace process.
