§ Mr. AtkinsThere is no separate water authority in Northern Ireland. Responsibility for water and sewerage services rests with the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland through its water service. The service is subject to normal Government accounting systems which do not require the value of assets to be shown in a commercial manner as would be the case under a commercial accounting system. Separate information on the value of assets is not therefore available.
