HC Deb 07 December 1992 vol 215 c506W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many referrals to occupational therapists have been made in each county in Wales so far in the current year and in each of the last five years.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

The requested information is not available centrally.

Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what resources his Department has made available to each county council in Wales for occupational therapy services in the current year and in each of the last five years.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

The bulk of central Government support for local authorities' spending on occupational therapy services is provided through revenue support grant and basic credit approvals, which are not specifically earmarked by central Government for the support of particular services. It is for individual local authorities to determine how these resources should be allocated, and details of how much they spend on occupational therapy services are not held centrally.
