Estimates of the effects of the national lottery on the level of pools' turnover are subject to a series of hypotheses. I am aware of the understandable concerns on Merseyside and am looking forward to a meeting next week with the Pools Promoters Association.

§ Mr. BrookeThat will depend upon the size of the national lottery's turnover, and on taxation. The prime purpose of the national lottery is to raise additional funds for the arts, sport, the heritage and charities.
