§ Mr. BurtAll absent parents are liable to support their children. If under the age of 18, cases are referred to a manager who will consider the circumstances and decide whether the absent parent should be approached. If the absent parent is under the age of 16, a parent or guardian must be present at any interview. If between 16 and 18, the absent parent can choose to have someone else present.
