§ Mr. Charles Wardle[holding answer 3 December 1992]: In the period January to October 1992 a total of around 4,000 nationals of the former Yugoslavia (excluding dependants) have applied for asylum in the United Kingdom, of which around 2,000 applied during September and October 1992. The large majority of the applications are still under consideration. More detailed information on the origin of the applicants is not available.
Information on asylum applications in November, and on acceptances for settlement in the United Kingdom in the period September to November of nationals of the former Yugoslavia, is not yet available.
