HC Deb 01 December 1992 vol 215 c100W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to his answer of 6 November,Official Report, columns 426–27, what has been the cost to the Exchequer of the chief executive of the Natural Resources Institute's visit to Wageningen, Netherlands on 8 May.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Responsibility for the subject of the question has been delegated to the Natural Resources Institute under its chief executive, Mr. Anthony Beattie. A copy of his reply is attached.

Letter from Anthony Beattie to Mr. Martin Redmond, dated 27 November 1992: Lady Chalker has asked me to reply to your Parliamentary Question about my visit to Wageningen last May. The visit was combined with one to Amsterdam in connection with NRI's participation in the European Consortium for Agricultural Research in the Tropics. The additional costs associated with the visit to the Centre for Tropical Agriculture in Wageningen were £113.97. In my letter to you of 28 October I gave the date of my visit to Wageningen as 8 May. This should have read 13 May, an error for which I apologise.
