HC Deb 01 December 1992 vol 215 c123W
Mrs. Helen Jackson

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will make it the practice of Her Majesty's Government employing Departments to give the right of access to medical reports to their employees, or individuals who undergo medical examination as potential employees.

Mr. Waldegrave

Government Departments are bound by the requirements of the Access to Medical Reports Act 1988 and the Access to Health Records Act 1990. The civil service occupational health service also complies with these statutes.

Since employees and potential employees already have ready access to medical reports provided and health records maintained about them, I do not consider further action to be necessary.
