§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonMy right hon. Friend recognises the needs of victims of violence but has no plans to meet the Glasgow city liaison group. Government funding of some £642,000 is being provided in the current financial year for the Scottish Association of Victim Support Schemes. The association provides general assistance and counselling for all victims of crime through a network of local support schemes. There are a number of such schemes based in Glasgow.
