§ Mr. BoswellThe Department commissioned surveys of undergraduates' income and expenditure in 1986–87 and 1988–89 academic years and of mature students' income and expenditure in the 1987–88 academic year. The Department has commissioned a further survey of undergraduate students' income and expenditure which is currently being undertaken. All of these surveys have sought information on the circumstances of students who study either while living in the parental home or away from it.
