To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will instruct all police authorities to use forensic archaeologists at excavation sites where a body or bodies are believed to have been buried; and if he will make a statement;

(2) if he will ensure that all police authorities use physical anthropologists at crime scene investigations as soon as they commence; and if he will make a statement;

(3) if he will list the police authorities who currently use forensic anthropologists in their investigations; and if he will make a statement;

(4) if he will list by police authority those who use archaeologists for their forensic investigations; and if he will make a statement.

The use of forensic archaeologists, forensic anthropologists arid other specialists to assist with the investigation of crime is a matter for individual chief officers.

The information requested about the use of forensic archaeologists and forensic anthropologists is not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
