To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) further to his answer of 14 October,Official Report, column 33, if he will list the number of entries under each category for the existing police national computer and for police national computer 2;

(2) when the police national computer 2 is expected to be operational; and how many entries from police national computer I will be transferred.

PNC2 is being brought into full service in stages. The first stage was completed in September to enable forces to access PNC2 for the last four categories of data listed in the table. A further transfer to PNC2 is taking place this month. For each category on PNC2 the full PNC1 database will be transferred
