§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyNational health service trust acute hospitals provide those services determined and contracted for by health authorities and other purchasers. In the unlikely event of a trust's failing to provide a vital service, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has power to direct them to do so. He can also direct them to provide facilities for medical education.
