§ Mr. EggarMy right hon. and learned Friend is expecting to receive advice shortly from the School Examinations and Assessment Council on the balance between course work and terminal examinations for key stage 4 assessment of the national curriculum. Once that advice is received, my right hon. and learned Friend will respond as soon as possible, and it will then be for SEAC to devise criteria for the approval of syllabuses which will give effect to these decisions.
