To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions under the Malicious Communications Act 1988 have been made in(a) 1989, (b) 1990 and (c) 1991 so far.

In England and Wales in 1989 there were 49 prosecutions under the Malicious Communications Act 1988. 1990 and 1991 data are not yet available.
