§ Mr. FallonIn 1989–90, the latest year for which information on actual expenditure is available, local356W education authorities' total net recurrent expenditure on education was some £15,800 million. Of this, some £10,000 million related to school-based spending in nursery, primary and secondary schools, which represents an average of some £1,485 per pupil in those schools.
